Born into a family of reputed musicians in Karnataka, Chidambar Joshi started learning the Harmonium from his father, his first guru Shri Chandrakant Joshi. At a young age, he mastered art and completed his degree in Music and Fine arts from Karnataka University, Dharwad. He has performed numerous concerts all over India and accompanied great vidwans like Pt. Jayateerth Mevundi, and Vidushi Smt. Sangeetha Katti, Pt. Kumar Mardur, and many more. He was awarded the Vadana Chatura title for his great solo concerts and his excellent contributions to the field of Carnatic Harmonium. His constant love and passion for the instrument have driven him to teach students all over the world. The Harmonium is not only an Indian classical instrument of accompaniment but also a solo instrument which can easily wave itself into various Classical and Contemporary genres, he said while in a conversation with Bmusician.
